Casting molds are specialized tooling used in the casting process to pour molten metal (aluminum, iron, copper, zinc alloys, etc.) into the mold cavity, and after cooling, metal castings are obtained. They are core forming tools in the machinery, automotive, hardware, and automation industries.
Classification (by casting process)
1.Die casting molds (most commonly used)
For die casting of aluminum alloys and zinc alloys, high-pressure, high-speed molten metal filling is used, suitable for mass production of thin-walled precision parts. This type of mold is used for automotive motor housings, automated slide block bases, and equipment housings.
2.casting molds (lost-wax molds).
First, a wax model is made, then refractory material is applied. This method can produce complex curved surface precision parts, and is used for small parts in aerospace and medical devices with extremely high dimensional accuracy.
3.gravity casting mold
The molten metal flows into the cavity by its own weight, without high pressure, making it suitable for thick-walled aluminum alloy valve bodies and pump bodies with high sealing requirements.
